All Isuzu NPR and NQR model trucks as well
as GM W3500 and W4500 trucks with diesel
engine and the Jatco JR403E Transmission and the Aisin
450-43LE Transmission have the capability of having the trouble
codes accessed directly from the truck using the
transmission light on the dash in what's called "Dealer

You must check year of manufacture inside cab to properly
id these Transmissions! do not go by year of registration. 1998
is split year for model of unit and diagnosis goes by production years. also
watch out for trucks that the cabs have been changed on etc.
this can throw you off on proper ID! Any of these trucks with gas 5.7 and 6.0
Chevy engines will have GM 4l80E automatic transmission and
requires Tech2 scan tool or equivalent to access codes and diagnostics.
Isuzu/Gm trucks used
the Jatco JR403 transmission
4 speed automatic from
1988 thru 1998. 1999 and up use the
Aisin 450-43LE 4 speed automatic
transmission.
Isuzu NPR,NQR and GM W3500/4500
series trucks started using the
Aisin A465 transmission
in 2006 which is an 6 speed
automatic transmission.

Both the Jatco JR403E
and Aisin 450-43LE transmissions
use Dexron ATF oil.
The required fluid for the
A456 (Aisin AS68RC transmission) is
Exxon JWS3309, or Mobil
ATF-3309. Dodge sells as AS68RC
fluid. do not use Dexron or Mercon
fluids or any other kind of fluid in this
transmission or damage will
result.
